This sculpture depicts Barry, a cartoon boy-dog standing bold and sturdy with his hands on hips. His legs are symmetrically apart, and he has a strong and confident stance.
Barry, Andy, Emily and Susan make up stereotypical personality types often found in cartoons. Their physical shapes are a balance of thin spindly limbs with bulbous round forms with over-sized feet placed sturdily on a bronze base-plate. The subtle differences in their postures however suggest very different personalities. The characters are reminiscent of the advent of animation the days of black and white Disney film shorts.
