The public sculpture  “拥抱鲸奇”, Embrace the Amazing Whale” by the top international sculpturist Ferdi B Dick with ToMaster MORE takes form at the prime location of the Zhan Jiang Garden City riverside coast. Ferdi B Dick embraced this project for his love for animals and his unique ability to express emotions in still objects, giving life to this 8 meter high stainless steel whale sculpture and transforming the environment into an interactive futuristic landscape. 

The sculpture becomes the focal point of this important urban development, rising with vigour and strength above the tide of the surrounding waters of the panoramic seafront. The whale rides with the wind and waves welcoming prosperity, wealth, and luck into the area, and to those in its presence. The inviting blue tones of the whale signifies the deep ocean, a source of sealife, natural energy, trade, and exploration. The deep blue ocean therefore is indispensable in bringing economic growth and jobs to the local community.

Ferdi B Dick designed this modern artwork by taking subtle references to stylised inflatable tubes, bringing an element of lightness to the sculpture. The whale shows flowing lines and curved patterns symbolic to the air element, generating positive energy and flow to the surrounding area. The spray from the waves and the pool beneath the whale add movement and fluidity to the sculpture, bringing presence and influence as it emerges from the ground. 

Ferdi B Dick has taken his South African roots and his appreciation for Chinese culture and art by creating a sculpture filled with positivity, happiness, and prosperity, blending its form to the environment encompassing the ocean, land, nature and the people.
