Lion Roar Crystal (amber-green)

"Lion's Roar" by Ferdi B Dick explores the theme of emotional release and healing. The inspiration behind the sculpture comes from the artist's grandfather's love for lions and fond memories of making powerful growls with him. The interesting thing about a lion when it growls is it sticks its tongue out and this reminds me of the posture in yoga called lion's breath.

Made from high-quality crystal oar, crystals offer a unique combination of transparency, colour, and brilliance that is hard to find in other materials. The ancient lost-wax casting technique used to create it, which has a lineage stretching back thousands of years, makes it exclusive and an ancient art form. Additionally, crystal sculptures are extremely durable and resistant to scratches, chips, and other forms of damage. This makes it perfect for creating long-lasting, beautiful sculptures that can be enjoyed for years to come. I have chosen a slightly frosted finish to give the sculpture a vintage look and infusing different types of metal and minerals in the casting process to capture the swirls and movement of the colour textures within the sculpture.
